A little societal crypto sidemark.

Are crypto's the future? Yes. Will society be a better place to live? That depends on the person, but on average I think not. The good part about moving from a centralised to an decentralised society (if it's going to happend) is that more power should return to the people. It should increase responsibility for oneself and the people in your social circle. Sounds good right? Yes, almost everybody thinks a decentralised society is what they want. But do they? I think that most people are not able to cope with the responsibility of theirselves and of their assets. We have just been to spoiled by centralised organisations and critizing them for making mistakes. It's called giving responsibilty away and blaming the other for doing it wrong. It's what human being are very very good at. Talking crap about central organisations even has a social function: it's mutual 'enemy' is a bonding katalysator. I don't write this down as an argument for why decentralisation is not good, but I just want to say that most human beings are not used to blaming themselves for mistakes and are much better in giving blame to some organisation or person to feel better about themselves. I don't think this human mechanism will change (not unless parents and teachers won't teach you how to deal with mistakes).

The same counts for having the freedom to do everything you want. In the past you became a farmer or a smith for a example, because it was the profession of your father. There was a lot of pressure for them to do what their social circle wanted from them. Nowadays western children are being raised with the idea that they can become everything they want. That they are free to make all the choices in the world. They are free to express themselves the way they want. All good things right? Yes, I think so, buuuuuuuut this also has it's downsides. We tend to love to swear on the stupid central organisations and that they are responsible for so many mistakes. I know for a fact that most people talk crap about governmental decisions with each other. That is not bad, it has got a social element: having a mutual 'enemy' bonds. How come that generally speaking most western people are fully in the top layer of Maslow's Piramide, but are never really happy with what they have? There is a lot of self-actualisation going on. And the pressure to improve oneself is not really based upon wanting to become a better person. No, growing in social hierarchy in the youth means having 'young money', talking about girls like they are h**kers and having a perfect body. And let's be real: most youngster can't live up to that 'ideal image' and feel relatively bad about themselves.

Millionaire at 16, small chance, but the stories are out there and creates a lot of FOMO and losses of money...

Allright, I am exaggerating a bit with everything to make my point. I know it's not all bad, but I think the cryptocommunity must know that if the crypto's will become mainstream and some processes will become more decentralised, it doesn't necessarily the society as a whole improves. But that's just my guess. Time will tell.
