The business activity on social media has increased in greater numbers as the tech has evolved overall and there are now, more sources of accessibility than there has been before, which is why the overall social market is blooming, as people are opting for such markets for clothing, beauty and now tech products too. Where some people have been satisfied by their experience, others have not.

As per the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Market (ACM), these transactions are not trust worthy. The last year’s record has concluded the damage to be nearly five million euros, which occurred due to the scams that got caught up. The initiative by ACM was to move a campaign forward which would make the consumers aware of the possible scams and frauds and this was the reason.

The ACM has received numerous complaints regarding such scams and frauds. Some complaints were about the products not being delivered at all and never reaching the customers, even after payment and others were about the delivered product which did not match the quality or quantity as it was shown in the images before buying that product.

There are certain cases which were mentioned specifically, like by director Evert Jan Hummelen who reports a case of a young girl who got attracted by a made-up model, which appealed to her and she got herself a mascara and a sharpener which was not nearly as much worth as she spent on those products. She spends money on a product which was not worth such money.

The problem that rose was that there was no option to contact the sender, there was no contact number, email address or a webpage where a person could email them or file a complaint, regarding their products or the deliveries.

To avoid such circumstances, here are a few tips which are suggested to the customers which would allow them to shop openly and freely without the doubt in their mind that the seller would scam them.

• Always check the reviews given by other consumers and the ratings too.
• Always pay after the product has been delivered to you
• If, not pay where there is a guarantee of getting your money back.
• Look for a way to contact the possible seller and save the details for later.

The ACM has been working towards the awareness of people to make sure that they know about the possible risks, they have been using the means of videos and radio advertisements to make people aware of the risks everything else.

As per the words of Hummelen, it has been easier to trick people using social network, as people there might not be buying something but they can get attracted to a certain product online which would be according to their interests and in that moment of shopping, people often would not think about the possibility of risks and issues which might occur or the scam that they might have to face later.
