Social media is all about being,well,social. With a simple hashtag you can encourage a conversation and build followers’ loyalty. This will get you shares and reposts, but make sure that you respond to them all. Let’s pretend that doing social media is hosting a successful dinner party. It’s your job to create a welcoming atmosphere while also keeping the chatter flowing and fun. The things you should pay attention to when doing social media is voice, timing and content. To shape your voice and presence you should know your audience. Do some research on where do they live ? What are their interests ? What places do they visit?
Then think of your content as your house interior. It should represent your vision and taste for things , generate conversation and make your audience comfortable.

Timing in social media is really important, because there is a fine line between engaging with your followers and overloading them with content. You should schedule your posts to keep a good balance. Don’t bombard your audience with content, but don’t go silent,either.
Posting 1 or 2 times a day is enough , but make sure to post when your audience is the most active. The last step is to start a conversation by asking questions or start a discussion. Give your audience a little push by telling them to do something , like asking them to submit relevant photos, share their best story or going to your website when you’re having a sale.
