The Little Tsu That Was

in #social8 years ago (edited)

Yeah... just got started on Steemit and first Steemy up for votes. (Steemy is the new iOS/Android App they working on)

One great concept after the next gets launched onto the cyber net daily. Some with far greater potential than others. Like that infamous writer's block gets to the best authors on planet earth. Many great hopefuls will not survive to hit the printing press of longevity after experiencing what many call a TSŪnami of the virtual kind.

This steem is set out to tell a tale of epic proportions that actually brought this very blogger and others like him to find this cool network. He was part of an elite team, or so he thought. One that challenged the online status quo of user generated content being overly exploited to no end. "You know the casual ex Facebook type." Oh almost forgot it's based on true events aka a true survival story.

The saga or shall we say epic battle of the internet kind was fierce. Where spammers and scam artists flocked, at first in high numbers, got chopped down like massive sequoia trees. At the stroke of one single mouse click. Admin felt victorious at their digital gunner chambers.

A handful of true original content creators rose to the top of this dying network. On the outside things appeared perfect to many, but those who dwell within its digital walls knew something was inherently wrong. Their philosophy and government had been overrun by bandits of this digital age "Online Pirates". Normal people who joined TSU fled long ago, in fear of losing their booty perhaps.

"A sad washed up experience drew near."

A year later after many upgrades a grand total of three to be exact. Them Fort Knox like fortress walls that had once protected its network integrity. Clearly had fallen hard to the onslaught of millions of spammers. Darn cheaters!

They tried to warn the hierarchy and elite class of Administrators, but they done nothing to stop the madness till the network could no-longer hold up.

The inevitable occurred and quite abruptly. Villages got swept under as after building what appeared to be online empires in the making. Entire communities aka channels with over 10,000 to 100,000 members gone. Love connections severed worldwide. That's the little TSU that was aka "TSŪnami".

Floods of tears splashed across millions of keyboards...

As a former tsu user and content contributor... I just got sick and tired of the endless sea of "pretty pics" everyone and their dog posted over and over and OVER! The site was un-navigable on news feed because of it... So users were stuck going to their "tsu fam" and followers walls only to avoid this.... It became a circle jerk of little or no intellectual worth. and became a STRICTLY moneymaking mechanism with all discussion being based on a "you scratch my back I'll scratch yours" mentality making real, honest interaction and discussion rare at best.

Yes I had a very similar experience. I got a true story of triumph and great victories out there as well to tell the world. Just warming up as tsū wasn't the first to fail miserably out here. I learned a lot though that's for sure 😃

Good story good idea keep creating i say. Thanks 4 sharing!!

Thanks wolftop for the kind words. Yeah I'm trying to make the best of a sad situation by fueling up my creative release. It feels good to get things out this way as well, you know them built up emotions.
