We all need time to our self
It's been a while...
I have been off social media for probably a week or two now. I thought it best and also highly important to take out some time for deep meditation, sober reflection and personal devotion.
I recommend the same for every millenial who desires to make real impact in this generation. Most of us virtually live online now. If you doubt that, riddle me this, is it possible for you to stay off social media for 30 days? While you contemplate your answer to my riddle, my point is, don't let technology enslave you. If you know, you know.
Everyone deserves a moment or two away from the noise of the internet and thank God there's nothing stopping us from switching off our data connections and connecting with the greater connection longing for attention within.
Take out some time, yes some quality time to listen to yourself. When last did you even enjoy your own company? When last did you appreciate the beauty of God's creation?
It was Mandy Hale who said, "happiness is an inside job. Don't assign anyone else that much power over your life." I can't agree more.
Choose a time for deep mediation everyday. You've got 24 hours in a day, it's time to tap into this divine resource. No more excuses. If you can't get 30 minutes for yourself in a day, then you need help.
Whenever you come to your moment of solitude, do nothing and say nothing. Be as quiet as you can be. You may find this unnervingly uncomfortable especially if you've been a noisemaker for most of your life. Now is the time to appreciate silence 'cos your life depends on it.
This advice will save you or at least someone dear to you. Keep reading please.
When you stand in your moment of silence. Let the tranquility and peace you'll begin to feel initially have it's full work. Don't ruin the moment. Be mute!! Don't speak, just think. Do not think about your worries, fears or doubts; they'll ruin the exercise.
Think about your life and meditate on that which makes you happy and fulfilled. You are permitted to smile, laugh or even cry as you listen, but do not speak, just listen. Listen to your deepest thoughts and pay attention to your inner voice.
Instructions will come to you. Take your time. You may miss these vital elements if you're in a hurry to get back to "your life" but please don't. Stay focused, what is worth achieving, is worth waiting for. Allow patience have its full grip over you.
The answers you seek lie dormant within you. It'll take your concerted effort to wake the sleeping genius within you.
"You will hear a voice saying this is the way, walk in it."
Sadly, for some, the frenzy of this world is drowning their inner voice, sinking it deeper and deeper into oblivion.
It is only in the place of meditation and silent devotion that your inner voice finds full expression.
If you decide today to begin to pay attention to your life, you'll begin to hear the voice of wisdom that will transform your life.
You will find true peace and fulfillment for all that you seek is within you. Just listen. Your answers will come.
