Facebook Sucks & Blows Simultaneously, Here's Why...
#1 Reason: They Censor people and silence the fuck out of people, idea's and freedom of speech.
Why does facebook suck so bad? Think about it -- a place where they have over a billion users, but cares not about any of their users even though they make money by you being there.
The facebook messenger app that no one asked for, and yet it comes on any device you purchase if you want to talk to people on your facebook account, you are forced to have to get their messenger app if you want to do so. No one asked for it and yet, facebook comes alreayd pre-installed on every smart phone out there and you have to jailbreak it or have a root kit in order to take it off the current phone you purchase. In other words, when you buy a phone these days, you're also buying a phone that already has facebook pre-installed on the device and you can't just remove, or uninstall it, you'd have to spring it somehow, or jailbreak your device and that's stupid. Shouldn't people be allowed to decide what goes on their phones or not? Why does facebook have to be on there before a person even makes the decision on whether or not they want it or not? It's an annoying decision that pleases no one except for facebook.
Not to mention facebook records all of your data, so it's no wonder why they want it pre-installed on your device without the ability to take it off completely.
It causes depression, addiction, it's censored material and people aren't allowed to speak their minds. I don't care if Joe is wrong about what he feels about Covid-19, he should be able to speak his mind without censorship telling Joe and the rest of the world that he's wrong about it and that "independent" fact checkers say that his information is wrong.
Privacy issues, they throttle posts and nothing happens in real time, yet that's how it's sold to us as though we can see all of our friends and families posts in real time. We don't. When facebook censors and throttles our posts, they control the power for whom can see your posts, or not see your posts. Most of which will be the most important people who won't see your posts.
The fact that they killed a great idea with tsu, and that it'll never be the same again bothers me because it was a great idea and would have taken over facebook by now and paid the contributions that people are making to the site to the people who helped grow the site. On facebook, people just take part of something that they are not gaining any owndership of. Their material is all being used by facebook to control us, or to sell us and advertise to us what we like.
Also, when facebook listens in for key words and you say, "I'm hungry for a burger," why does it all of a sudden have to advertise to us those things that we were just talking about. I needs to mind it's own business and meddle out, especially when we don't even have the app up and running.
Also, it drains battery life and is constantly running in the background of everything. Again, it needs to be able to be shut off, and truly be off, and people need to make up their own minds on whether or not they even want the app on their phones. I presonally believe that people have an issue with facebook being as something that they can't get rid of if they wanted to and it's because it's been made to keep people addicted to it. What does facebook care if you're posting all the time or not? They want you posting anything and everything becasue they make money from your contributions that you're making on their site.
Tsu was different. Tsu gave back money to the people that helped build it, and that's the way that it should be. People own their pictures and material, and at the same time they got paid for being content curators where if you're curating content on facebook, all you're doing is helping them and not yourselves. I personally know a lot of people that would be currently making a lot of money on tsu, had it never been censored and made out posts throttle and even disappear from our news feed. It was wrong what facebook did and they know it. They took an idea and sabotaged it even though we were also all taking part in charities and spreading around the wealths and sharing it in ways taht facebook could never do.
Facebook ultimitely cares about one thing. Itself and no one else. Zuckerberg isn't even on his own platform and that should tell you something about the kind of person that he is. I do not think he's anyone to look up to, and won't ever look up to him for what he's willing to do with our information. People should be able to freely speak their "opinions" in whatever ways that they wish, and people should be smart enough to decipher for themeslves what's true or not. We don't need independent fact checkers and we don't need censorship. The whole idea behind tsu was to be able to be on the same playing field as places like facebook and instagram, and just be left alone to do our thing. We weren't left alone. We were censroed and the idea was ruined for lack of better words by how facebook dealt with us. Either way you look at it, it's wrong and disengenuous of facebook to play as though they didn't meddle where they shouldn't have. If tsu was left alone, and we were able to continue doing our thing without censorship, we'd still be around and we'd all be thousands if not millions richer. Yes, we were taking away people from facebook, and yes we were trying to... but that was the point. We thought it was only fair that people who helped grow the social media into what it was, that they should get paid for the content that they are sharing. They are your posts. They are your pictures. So why aren't YOU paid for them?
It's simply because facebook and the Zuckerbergs out there, only care about one thing, and that's themselves. If someone else has an idea that is far better than his, he's going to do everything in his power to destroy that idea. Especially when that idea is and would --- take away from the $528 Billion that could all be shared with it's users who helped grow the site.
If no one was on facebook, and we were all doing something else where we share the income that we are curating on our own platform, we could solve a lot of problems with poverty everywhere. That was partly our goals. We wanted to rid the world of homelessness, and without what facebook was willing to do... who knows where we'd all be at today. I know for a fact that I'd be making a SHIT TON of money by now, and THAT money would have been used to help other people build and make more money grow. So, there is no telling where the world could be today, if it wasn't for what censorship is making possible. So, thanks facebook! Thanks Zuckerberg and the facebook team... You're conscience should be hurt by what kind of things you do, and you don't care. You don't care about what you did because you care only about one thing... and that's keeping people on facebook and not allowing them to go somewhere else or do anything better than you.
Tsu was infinitively better than facebook ever could be. And, we'd be continuing to be infinitively better if it wasn't for facebook. So that's the number one reason why I hate facebook.
If I could create an opportunity to kill facebook for good, once and for all, and make this world a better place... THAT'S WHAT I'D DO!
