Brazil international Coutinho has finally completed a ‘dream’ transfer to Barcelona after Liverpool agreed a £142million fee with the Spanish giants. The 25-year-old, who spent five years at Anfield, took part in a photo sessionat the Nou Camp after Barca’s 3-0 win over Levante on Sunday and is set for an official presentation at the stadium on Monday. Philippe Coutinho has completed his record-breaking move from Liverpool to Barcelona - but will not be able to make his debut for three weeks due to injury.
Coutinho signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with Barca at Monday lunchtime to finalise a transfer that could be worth up to £142million to Liverpool.
However, Barca fans will have to wait to see their new signing in action after the Catalan giants announced he presented with a thigh injury during his medical this morning, which is set keep him sidelined for around 20 days. “I’m very happy, as I’ve said it was my dream. I hope to live up to expectations on the pitch.”Coutinho becomes the second most expensive footballer in history after compatriot Neymar, who left Barca for Paris St Germain last summer in a £200.6million deal.
