Barcelona vs Eibar

in #soccer6 years ago

Lionel Messi became the first to score 400 goals for a single club in Europe's top leagues, as Barcelona grabbed a comfortable home 3-0 victory against Eibar.
Luis Suarez scored twice in the match and helped set up Messi's goal.
Eibar contained the hosts well in the opening minutes of the game but Barcelona almost grabbed the lead when Pique met a free kick from Messi, but headed it wide.
Luis Suarez finally opened up the scoring in the 18th minute, with a nice attacking move from Barca. Coutinho playing the striker through after some nice one-two passing, then Suarez adjusting well to slide the ball past the advancing keeper.
Eibar gave a nice response to the deficit, and almost levelled when Sergi Enrich met a Ruben Pena cross but missed the target narrowly.
Barca could have doubled their lead later on when Coutinho went down in the box from a challenge from Pena, but the referee says no penalty.
Messi doubles Barca's lead in the 53rd minute, after being played through by a fine pass from Suarez. With the Argentinian finishing confidently with a low ball into the bottom right corner.
Roberto set up Suarez to kill the game 6 minutes later, with the striker finishing with the outside of his boot.
Barcelona go 3 up and it doesn't look like there's anyway back for Eibar. Barcelona take a comfortable win despite Eibar's efforts.
Barca's win secures their La Liga top spot and reduces the pressure, putting them 5 points clear of Athlético Madrid who had reduced the gap to 2 points previously with their victory over Levante.
