Game 1

Swansea City v Manchester United

Manchester United have started the season on fire with a 4-0 opening day win over West Ham. In the last couple of season as an Romelu Lukaku had put the rest of the league on notice while at Everton. Now he has joined United he is threatening to go ham.

Swansea City sold Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton today for £45m. While they got top dollar for him, what price can you put on a goal scoring midfielder? Having looked toothless against Southampton last time out, I fully expect Manchester United to have too much for Swansea in Saturday's early morning kick off.

My prediction: Swansea City 1 - 3 Manchester United

Game 2

Leicester City v Brighton

Leicester will take a lot of positives out of their 4-3 defeat in the season curtain raiser away to Arsenal. With Jamie Vardy in the goals, I expect them to have too much for newly promoted Brighton. Having lost their opening game to season favourites Manchester City, the football fixture Gods certainly haven't done the team from the south coast any favours pitted them away to Leicester in their second match back in the top flight. Anything Brighton can get out of this game will be treated as a bonus.

My prediction: Leicester City 3 - 1 Brighton

Game 3

Liverpool v Crystal Palace

Liverpool have slipped up against The Eagles on several occasions in the last few seasons and I see another upset on the cards this time around. With this match sandwiched between their two-legged Champions League Qualifier against Hoffenheim as well as the on-going Coutinho to Barcelona saga, The Reds can be forgiven for having their minds elsewhere. With Liverpool slipping up late against Watford and Palace eager to make amends after their shocking display at home to Huddersfield, I see an upset in this one.

My prediction: Liverpool 0 - 2 Crystal Palace

Southampton v West Ham

With both teams drawing blanks in the opening weekend, I think both teams would settle for being among the goals and getting some kind of result out of this match. That's exactly what I think they will get. This has a score draw written all over it.

My prediction: Southampton 1 - 1 West Ham

Game 5

Stoke City v Arsenal

The proverbial 'tough game away from home at Stoke' has come around early this year for Arsenal. And I think it will suit them. Buoyed by their comeback win against Leicester last time out, I see Arsenal having too much firepower for a Stoke team that succumb to Everton on the opening day. I see Arsenal nicking this in a tight affair.

My prediction: Stoke City 1 - 2 Arsenal

I'm going for 7 minutes. I've I had to pick a game and a player, I'd say Lukaku gets the goals flowing early against Swansea on the counter-attack. Rip-roaring start, so-to-speak!
