Snowy driving

in #snow7 years ago (edited)

Hello people

I wanted to talk about the sketchy theme of slippery roads and the consequences that come with it. There are many different types of "reactions" when there is snow on the ground and everytime it comes as a surprise to most, even though it's known a couple of days before it actually snows. I'll try to think of a name to every kind of driving style to make it a bit easier to understand what I'm trying to say :D

  1. "The sideways driver" (or "the BMW guy"). By this I mean the ones who wait for snow for the whole year just to go drifting. Some who go to a overpopulated ice tracks and some who take every corner sideways no matter where. Roundabouts, corners, if there are others around or not and so on. There are a lot of types who are between these kinds of people, but you get the point (I hope). I think that I am this kind of a guy :D I don't like the ice tracks and I don't take my "little helpers", who won't let the tires spin around every time I press the gas pedal, off when I'm in the middle of a city where there are a lot of other cars and tight corners. The reasoning behind this is that I just don't have the money to fix my car, if I would crash. But I don't say no to taking some corners and parking lots sideways :D. 189vtl2z4mc15jpg.jpg

  2. "The granny". These are the ones who are absolutely terrified of any snow particle that they see and because of this block everybody who dares to go behind them. They drive 50 km/h in a 90 km/h zone. I get it when there's a blizzard and it is actually very dangerous to even turn. But I just think that when you see like 10 behind you being pretty mad and trying to pass you, but can't for some reason, then just stop to let them pass or get really close to the side of the road. You know these people. You get mad at them. Don't deny it. eba5bf567a58fca2ef0952f1378455c0--smart-auto-well-being.jpg

  3. "The normal". These are your everyday drivers. They aren't afraid of snow, but they don't take unnecessary risks and know how to keep distance when needed. Not much to talk about them. Aim to be like this driver. They usually are the best of them.

  4. "The bitch". Many names for this driver. The big turd who ruins everybody's cars and takes away the beauty of snow. 660928368.jpg
Yup, the salt truck. At least in my country, Estonia, once there is just a bit of snow, doesn't matter where, they come and shit out the salt.
If you don't know why I hate them, and so should you, is because salt destroys cars. It finds the little rust spot you have on your car and starts eating away. Until you realize you're holding a steering wheel without any of your car left. Just the dashboard. Finally your car will look like this, unless you won't wash it. Washing in winter costs a lot though. Can't just hose it down, when it's minus degrees, so if you want to wash it, and you actually have to unless you don't care about rust, you will spend a lot of money on a God damn wash.

I could go on and on about these types and topics, but as I am writing this on a phone, I'm kind of tired already :D

Thanks for reading, if you did, and hope to see in the next post.
