Snow leopard massacres

Around 450 of the endangered and beautiful Snow Leopards are slain every year since 2008. It is true, that many of the deaths were the result of herders protecting their livestock. something hard to argue against. This is bringing up new and old questions about the role we have to play in the protection of these beautiful, but sometimes deadly dangerous, large cats. If governments across the 12 countries affected could increase the benefits/compensation for the loss of animals it may decrease the leopards losses by over 40%. Even larger and stronger pens could keep herds safer through the night. Nature will be nature, however. Cruel and undeniable. We can intercede, slightly, however, and possibly save one of the most beautiful species on the planet.
