Meet Project Giving – leveraging the steem blockchain to help communities all around the world
As a participant in the @sndbox summercamp, I am making this post with the goal of promoting the project in which I am member.
The project in question is @projectgiving and its official introduction post will be live soon, but to provide some context I will briefly explain what this is about.
@projectgiving consists in searching for initiatives in communities all around the world, that could use some help in solving their local issues, but for one reason or another, have not been able to gain access to the resources they need nor to the exposure they deserve.
These initiatives will be promoted on the steem blockchain using @projectgiving’s account, with the goal to raise awareness about the issue in question, and to also provide them with all the monetary help possible.
This way, @projectgiving is capable of not only bringing awareness to local initiatives that don't receive enough attention, but could also serve as a powerful example of the positive impact that technology like steem could have in people’s lives when it comes to eliminate local problems.
There will be accountability reports showing what was done with the potential rewards received as well as documenting and publishing the results regarding the local issue after it was supported by @projectgiving.
The Internet has allowed for the first time that people living in different parts of the world, but of similar tastes, can now join forces towards a common good, which in essence has allowed for many initiatives that were once only niches, to now have a global reach.
Now, what we can see is that with technology like Steem, it is now possible for any individual with a good initiative to receive collective support from the society in general to accomplish the correspondent goals, without having to go through the traditional means of seeking support.
With this project we can allow for the first time initiatives that otherwise would never have the opportunity to be successful due to lack of support or lack of awareness, to now have a chance and become a reality, and that is something big, because it implies that technology is enabling what in essence will be an exponential growth in the amount of initiatives created, capable of actually having a positive impact in their community.
Finally, I must add that in the great order of things we are currently living the best era of humanity, with platforms like Steem and projects like @projectgiving both of which are precisely the necessary ingredients to continue making this world a better place to everybody, we have the resources and the technology to accomplish huge things and it is up to us to use them.
I invite everyone to follow @projectgiving and be on the lookout for the official introduction in the coming hours.
Thanks for reading!
I followed the account, I would like to team up with other members of the @projectgiving team.
This is awesome @autofreak.
Let's first wait for the introductory post to go live, please check the project's blog in a few hours :)
Awesome post @dedicatedguy. I love what you say here:
About the potential of steemit and how this fits in with project giving and altruism in general. The future looks bright :-)
Hey there @raj808 thanks for stopping by :)
Incredibly, I strongly support this. All humanitarian actions are very interesting to me. And I really agree, in this era of globalization with technological sophistication hopefully we can realize their ideals to get out of the problem. In Indonesia alone we are also very active in doing activities like this. We donate Steem / SBD to support humanitarian programs. Greetings of humanity ..
If there is a good initiative we can support please let us know.
Thanks, maybe it would be better to work with each other. May blessings always be with us. Praise God ...
