Good day and welcome to @steemminna community account introductory article. This article will highlight its goal, objectives and how the objectives would be achieved through a united effort of its team members.

The word “Minna” in the account name is the name of the state capital of Niger State in Nigeria. Niger State is located in the northern part of Nigeria where the team leaders of the @steemminna are based.
But before I proceed, I would love to debunk the mindset of people about Nigerians to be criminals and fraudsters who do nothing but cheat people. That could be partially true but there are still good people in Nigeria.

WHAT IS STEEMMINNA AND WHO ARE THEY?

Steemminna is an idea birthed by some youngsters who out of great concern for youths in the northern part of Nigeria who are suffering poverty, lack and starvation. This is as a result of past and present Governments who have come and gone, and have refused to pay attention to the needs of its citizens especially in the northern part of Nigeria where poverty is at its peak of activities. @steemminna came up with the sole aim of alleviating poverty through the steem platform and empowering youths to be self-dependent and being a source of help to others around them.

The youngsters had its first meet up at the Federal University Of Technology Minna on the 17th Of February 2018 with some students who were not yet members of the steem platform.

The team is made up of 9 steemians who joined the platform middle of 2017 and early 2018, and they include:

WHY NORTHERN NIGERIA?

Nigeria is a great country blessed with lots of natural resources but its citizens tend not to benefit from these resources due to leaders who are selfish and corrupt, who fail to look at the plight of its citizens. The northern region happen to be the region who have produced the highest number of leaders before the independence in the year 1960 and after the independence but one tends to wonder why the poverty rate in the region is higher than other regions of the country.

The above is the reason why the @steemminna was created to help fellow Nigerians especially those in the Northern part of Nigeria. What then is our goal and objectives and how will that be achieved?

OUR GOAL

Our goal as @steemminna is to empower the youths in the Northern region of Nigeria to be financially free, empowering higher institution students to be self dependent, visits to orphanages, providing meals, clothing etc for children and teenagers in the secondary school( an idea birth by @izzrael who is already running @steemteens before the birth of @steemminna some days back).

OUR OBJECTIVES

• First, to reach out to the students in the five higher institutions in Niger state, educating them about wealth creation, cryptocurrency and the steem platform as a way of empowering them financially and from there to reach out to other institutions within the northern region of Nigeria. The five institutions within the state include

• To introduce at least 50 people who are ready to produce good content to the steem platform and with easy account creation through the steemconnect with available relevant guide to help them understand the platform by one of the team members.

FOLLOW FOR FOLLOW, ANY USEFULNESS?

• Reach out to orphanages in the northern part of Nigeria starting from Niger state with the sole aim of providing them with food items and other basic necessities of life because it was not their fault to be orphans but life’s unfairness got to them at a very early stage.

• Reach to secondary and primary school children to provide them with writing materials, school uniforms and meals. @steemteens is running that already.

• Job creation for unemployed youths, skill acquisition and empowering those in businesses with some capital to boast their businesses.

• Once a while visitation to the hospital to help in settling the bills of some patients and providing meals to those who don’t have the money.

WHY WE BELIEVE IN THE STEEM PLATFORM

We are bold to say we believe in the steem platform as a way of helping the poor, not because we were told but some of our team had experienced some love on the platform and also some of our team members have being able to reach out to the needy as well.

”I was supposed to graduate last year from the university here in Nigeria but couldn’t because I failed two courses in school and could not finish up my project work in school. Not as though I was not intelligent but I was in financial need and my mind couldn’t focus to read and retain what I read. I felt and understood what it means to be hungry because I dwelt in that valley for long. Which meant an extra year in school, I became more frustrated because I wondered where I could raise the school fees and sustain myself in school but in the cause of seeking things to do online to raise my school fees, I met @lordidama1 early January who introduced me to the steem platform. For a while I was discouraged because my payout was in cents. I had to make an appeal to the platform for assistance in this post{ Appeal For 50 sbd To Help Pay My school Fees And Accomodation Fee Off Campus }. The post got only about $5 in upvote but three human angels( @paradise-found, @hefziba and @mickyscofield )came to my aide whom I never knew before now and sent sbd which amounted to 24 sbd and with that I was able to pay my fees. And since that time till now, the steem platform has being my source of feeding in school and helping some other fellow student in different campus. “

Aside the story of @inspiredgideon1, there are other team members who have being sustaining themselves through the steem platform.

On the first of June 2018, there was a visit to the Government Orphanage Minna here in Niger State of Nigeria by @mickyscofield, @inspiredgideon1 and @nancy007. All thanks to @tarekadam who organised a contest of 500 steem to help people in need and @mickyscofield turned out to be one of the winners as seen in the link. OUR APPEAL TO THE STEEM COMMUNITY FOR SPONSORSHIP

We can do more to reach out to those in need, if only the community can come to our aide through donations of steem dollars, steem, steem power delegation and upvotes on our subsequent posts as we would be giving updates on our reach outs and charity activities just to keep the community informed that we are keeping to our words.
