I was looking at the percentage of deaths in the United States each year and I wondered when I came to know that smoking is the biggest contributor to causing deaths. NHS estimates that 1 out of 2 smokers will die from smoking-related diseases which means the life to death rate is 50%. If you and your brother smoke, one of you may probably die from smoking-related diseases. (I pray not to be, though)

To be honest, I've never smoked before except when I was a kid and excited to taste a used cigarette of my relative but it was followed immediately by a cough and I said WTH and threw it away. It only burned my chest and nothing more, I wonder why people like smoking too much! I'm not sure because I've never done smoking after once in my childhood.

Daily affirmations are one way to keep encouraging yourself to achieve certain goals and those who have used this technique in the past know that it works flawlessly. Same is the case with commitments of leaving a specific habit. The idea is that our mind often forgets what we know and therefore it is important to remind yourself to keep the dedication towards the accomplishment of your goal.

Take a paper and write down the reasons why you should quit smoking, not just "bad for health" reason. Write in detail the ways smoking affect your health and be specific to the problems. Sometimes multiple reasons are better than one broad reason.

Some of us smoke for some specific purpose. One of such purpose is fighting the stress and depression and another is that it makes you feel peaceful. In such cases, it is advisable to prepare a list of alternatives that could provide the same advantages that you were getting from smoking.

It is not easy to quit smoking on the same day because of the long-formed habit. In fact, it is not easy to quit something that has become your habit and therefore, it takes dedication and courage to keep the waves of commitment alive with yourself.

That's why it is advisable to decide the date on which you'll start practicing your plan. If you're buying cigarettes in bulk, simply start buying less since you know that you'll be quitting cigarettes (smoking).
