Why Smartmarket is still a smart Idea

in #smartsteem6 years ago

The days where you could just buy votes or use bidbots and put in 10 SBD and then the next week get 10 SBD back plus some SP out are gone.

The bots are no longer cash cows.

They are becoming more of visibility engines that will give your post the visibility you need to get more comments and then also hopefully some more votes as well.

But this does not mean that you should not use them.

What do you do now with the SBD part of your earnings?

  • sell it outside of the steem ecosystem?
  • buy SP on the internal market?
  • keep it and hope it spikes in value?
  • use smartmarket?

I would personally recommend option 3 or 4 but not 2.

The first option is your choice and if you need or want the money and do not care about getting some long term potential then this is the way to go.

Option number 3 is a very crypto thing to do HODL

but nr 4 is the best here. Just sell your votes and then use that and the post revenue to upvote your own posts.

The difference is illustrated below on the two pictures:

if you take 35 SBD and just straight up convert them you will get 28.173 to Steem

If you do the same on Smartmarket then you get a slightly different outcome that I like better

28.9 in steem and SP PLUS 7.5 SBD.

So the steem/sp revenue is the same BUT there is that addtion of 7.5 SBD and that is nice

just keep powering up and reap the rewards in the future.

Sort:

Stopped using upvote bots after 2 months on Steem and never went back. THey are inherently unhealthy for ecosystem because they cant see the real added value.

thats why I really only talk about smartmarket and not about the voting bots.

I find the system of selling my unused votes good. I was on holiday for the last 3 weeks and was not really online much. So everytime my voting power got to 95% my votes got used and generated me a bit of passive income.
The voting bots are a different thing though. not a big fan of those either.

Its the same thing in my eyes. You dont have control over what you vote for. No human curation.

well there is a broad control because the only people that can buy the votes have been screened as not being spammers and people that are trying to abuse the system.
So this eliminates a whole lot of people that take advantage of the flaws in the system

Agreed!

This seems to good to be true. And usually it isn't true then!

It looks to good to be true, because when you convert the Steem into SBD you will see that you made a 24% profit.

Is there really no threat? There are probably some small letters that you forgot to mention?

nope, that is the way it works... dig in deeper if you want and verify for yourself

So let's assume the Steem price decreases with 40% in the week following up after you bought your @smartsteem upvotes. What profit will I then make on buying upvotes via @smartsteem?

well 40% less in dollar value seems like a good answer

market fluctuations are not taken into account here. but in the end, gathering more SP is what is important, for the moment it is not all that important how much each sp is worth

But if you spend SBD on buying upvotes and in the following week the Steem price decreases significant, then you end up with less SP then when you just bought it with the SBD you now spend on buying upvotes. Correct?

depends on how much the change is but essentially correct and it also works the opposite way

Yeah it's basically a lottery. Although if you maximize your profit you have a very good chance of always profiting from it.

Another threat is that @steemcleaners or @berniesanders visits you for a downvote. Because of plagiarism or reward pool rapism. I saw that happening to.

Since when are those days gone? I just made a 39% profit on buying votes.

https://steemit.com/bidbots/@crypto-econom1st/bid-bots-are-being-used-not-enough-maximum-profit

yes, if you can get the bots on a round with not enough bids you are correct.
there is a ROI.

But there used to be a time
bid 10
get back 12 and some SP and do it again
it was money printing
this has gone imo

Was that somewhere in mid 2017 or end of 2017? I wasn't at Steemit back then.

thanks that helps. I'm doing some of this, and I'm not sure about the results exactly. So at least I'm going in the right direction.

just keep reading up
Steem is a very hard system to master... but if you are here that means you are going in the right direction

thanks for the great infos, that is great to get with this way more out

yep it is...

and if you have the time, would you lend your support to our witness @swisswitness?

Thanks very much for this interesting study. There a few things I am not sure of:

To clarify this:
Smartmarket is a bid bot?
It will vote your post for about 20% - 25% more than you paid?
However they will keep the curation on the vote?
The curation part they keep is how much?

its not a bid bot, it is a system that allows people to sell the votes they are not using for themselves.
www.smartsteem.com
and the curation goes to the ones that vote, not the ones that pay.

The future of this market is Steemit and i am sure over a period of time everything will fall in place with market coming out of recession. However i have little or no knowledge about bots.If you can help me to get some idea or information about the bots ???? , it would really help me

there are hundreds of articles explaining all kinds of bots there are. Just browse a bit around and you will get loads of info

Bro what is smart steem kindly explain , if der is any chance by Which we can increase our reputation on steem
