Picture Stories #156 - Bird Flower
Is it a bird? Is it a plant? I wish I could say it's both, but we don't have such genetically advanced and mutated creatures on our planet yet, so they are in fact just plants that look like birds. When I viewed these beautiful flowers from a certain angle, they appeared to me like some enchanting tropical birds resting atop green foliage. So I decided to take pictures of them from both sides in such a way that they presented themselves like stunning birds. I am certainly happy with the way the pictures have come out!
I'm not sure what the plant/flower in the above pictures is, but it sure looks beautiful and I was also seeing this floral magnificence for the first time.
Have you seen this flower before?

it is a parrot plant 😆
You've nailed it! When googling for "bird flower" this is what comes up: bird of paradise flower. Yes, I've seen it before. Since they are so pretty they are often planted in botanic gardens, you can also find them sometimes at the florist's. I still prefer orchids :o)
Haha I was too lazy to google, but I'm quite impressed by myself :P Thanks for doing the research, and well orchids are the choice of genius minds, so it figures :D
I am in Cape Town, South Africa and I have a bunch of these growing my garden! They are so stunning...I’m very lucky! They are indigenous to this area. We also call them strelitzia.
Wow, certainly lucky ;) What a beautiful view...
Nice click bro, which camera you have used? And one more thing to say nature is awesome!
I love this flower, it is called Bird of paradise flower. Many years ago I saw it first time in a bouquet of flowers, it made me confused because I did not know where is what. I loved it from the first sight. But I prefer it alive in the ground rather cut in my vase.
beautiful flowers, very contrasting colors to the surroundings, first look I also feel like a bird with a long beak
great .. new this time I see there are flowers resembling birds.
It's also my first time seeing that kind of plant. Well it is pretty cool.
Amazing plant, looks like a phoenix. Im animal/nature lover and this amazed me
