OnePlus 5 Smartphone Mini Review
The OnePlus 5 is the newest flagship device by the manufacturer with some pretty impressive stats. You can tell the OnePlus 5 is a quality device by the high-end metal build with an impressive dual camera setup. Some other notable stats are the 1080p display, dash charging for fast recharge, fast fingerprint scanner, long-lasting battery life and of course a more refined OxygenOS.
One major thing to consider is that the OnePlus 5 has some serious upgrades from the previous 3T although it is the most expensive device they have released to date at $479. If you remember the original OnePlus One came in at only $299.
The body of the device seems to be pretty close to the OnePlus 3T although the 5 is a bit thinner at 7.25 mm. The thin design gives it a great feel in your hands although without a case the phone is slippery. The device also has a headphone jack regardless of the removal trend.
There is a base model and a more expensive upgraded one available. This said you must think through which model is right for you as there is no SDcard slot so you can not add storage. The two models include:
- 64GB storage with 6GB RAM
- 128GB storage with 8GB RAM
One of the biggest enhancements is the dual camera that takes amazing photo’s and can focus on more than one thing at a time. That said this is based on research not usage but I do know that depending on which camera sensor you choose the settings and quality will be different.
The last thing Wirth mentioning is the battery life as they degraded the battery size by making the device thinner. All in all it does not make a huge difference in battery life if any since the drop was from 3,400 down to 3,300. Heavy use can still last all day and with its dash charging you can recharge in a few minutes anyway.
Great article!
