Qualcomm's newest processor for mid-range smartphones
Qualcomm is looking at improving voice-based user interfaces, photography and biometric features as well as enhancing the artificial intelligence technology of mid-range smartphones with this new processor - news media from Indian news agency IANS
"The Snapdragon 710 'will be the first Qualcomm chip outside of the organization's flagship processor, which will support HDR video."
The new chip has been built based on 10 nanometer architecture. The processor is expected to increase the efficiency of the device by 20 percent, as well as reduce the battery cost, particularly when watching videos and playing the game.
Qualcomm's Snapdragon 600 series for mid-range devices and the '800' series of flagship devices will have 'Snapdragon 710'. Currently Snapdragon 845 processors are used in the flagship Android smartphones such as the Galaxy S9.
Qualcomm has plans to launch the first smartphones launched in the second quarter of this year with 'Snapdragon 710'. The company announces the 'Snapdragon 700' series at the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona, Spain at the beginning of the year.
