SMARTCASH COMUNNITY PROJECTS 1/6 AT "LOS BAEZ" COMMUNITY IN VENEZUELA

As part of our project for creating awareness for Smartcash Cryptocurrency in Venezuela. Our team has developed a plan to finance 6 community projects throughout the state of Bolivar in Venezuela. We came in contact with several organizations and universities and asked them to present to us projects for the community they have created, and after several reviews we choose the project presented by the Universidad de Oriente and its Medical Faculty students & professors. This project did not only cope with our budget, but it also provided the students opportunity to perform field work, and to help professors of the microbiology and parasitology department to carry out their lines of investigation.  

The department of microbiology and parasitology of the Universidad de Oriente, for the past decade, carried out this field works without interruption every semester. About two years ago, this field works stopped due to budget cutbacks from the department, and the country's economy took a toll on the university. Last month we gave them the good news that their project was selected for funding and everything was set in motion. The budget presented cover all the basic needs transportation, food and beverages, work material and the potential prescribed drugs for the people with diseases found. Los Baez is a small community south of the capital of the Bolivar State and is where the field work took place. This community was chosen due their inability of accessing basic healthcare; the nearest healthcare facility is 20 km away and there is no transportation available;

On the morning of April, the 21st, we arrived the facility in which the team was set to work for attending the community. Students, Technicians and professor put on to the task of assigning roles to all the team: Reception of the samples and gathering of information Screening of Lice in small children Door to Door surveys of the population Laboratory Analysis of the samples Helping a student in need of a break (I'm a Licensed Laboratory Analyst in case you were wondering) Even a small play was made to teach the children the importance of personal hygiene to avoid contracting lice. The university makes the most out of this field works. For example, Dr. Rodolfo Devera was conducting an investigation about the risk of contracting diseases transmitted by the Aedes spp. Mosquito (Zika virus, Chikungunya and dengue fever) in this community. Alongside Prof. Ytalia Blanco conducted an investigation for the incidence of intestinal parasites cases ins this community. At the moment of the launch break, we gathered with team and gave an interactive presentation about cryptocurrencies, blockchain, smartcash and our smarthive project. With the help of Smartcash and the smarthive projects for the community we hope to achieve a different approach to help those in need,and contribute to bringing people close together, to help each other, and to make them understand that there are other ways of helping your community, and that it isn't an issue of money but more an issue of willing, the will to change the world the SMART way.
