My road to the SmartCash master node, blog post 2

Hello fellow Steemit community,

So i finally did it, i got enough SmartCash for a smart node and set it up with no bigger problems. This post won’t be a guide on how to set up your SmartNode, there are many great guides out there already. Instead i will make a short overview on the steps i did.

Choosing the hosting service

For the hosting part of things i decided to use Vultur.

I choose the server for $5 per month, with 25 GB of SSD space, 1CPU, 1024 MB Memory and 1000 GB Bandwidth. And from there on i just followed the awesome guide (link above).

SmartCash desktop wallet: syncing and importing of my wallet.dat file

Because i decided to keep my wallet on my PC from now on i had import my wallet file. This was easily done by making a copy of my old wallet and import it in the SmartCash folder on my PC.
The next step was to sync my desktop wallet, i made a guide on how to do that if you are interested ;)

The moment of truth

After following all the necessary steps I had to take a look if the server is working.

The master node is now listed under enabled in the SmartCash desktop wallet

And I also checked in the Vultur terminal, which said the server started running. So YAY

Now all that is left is to play the waiting game until the first payment comes in.
