Are you smart, or stupid?

I'm pretty stupid. In a million years, assuming humans are still alive, we won't even look back on today, except to tell stories of simpler times.

These days, there are a large number of conveniences that the average Joe on the street has that kings of centuries past couldn't even dream of. We throw chocolate in the trash. Back then, it might have been fit only for a god. A king might have died from an infection from a scrape. Today, the common homeless person has access to the kind of care that prevents such sadness.

We're only beginning and all of us are sitting here, watching Game of Thrones on TV, like it somehow makes any sense at all. We're arguing about politics as if any of us understands any part of it. We put borders between countries, as if cultural identity has any bearing on anything anymore.

Yes, not one thing any of us does makes sense in the scheme of humankind and I'm just as big of a part of it as any.
