Rambling a bit in the past, also for those who still do not know, I will talk a little about the Card Captor Sakura series. It is a manga written and illustrated by the manga group CLAMP, which has anime adaptation.









The story focuses on Sakura Kinomoto, a little girl who discovers her strange magical powers, after having accidentally released a set of cards that were inside a book. After this, Sakura with the help of her friends is forced to collect and take care of the "Clow letters" to avoid the occurrence of a "catastrophe" in the world. ^Source

Today for all lovers of Anime and Design !, with all the passion that you have to give your own work, I have come to bring you a job done in 3 mm MDF, on this so famous series.

As indicated by the title, it is the manga's keys in conjunction with the anime series called Sakura Card Captor and the new season that has been named Sakura Card Captor Clear Card.

This design request in MDF runs by part of Anthony Villegas who got in touch with me (where he asked me, if he did not make personalized charms, I inform him that as long as there is a viable idea they can do it) then he shows me the referential image N°. 1 that we appreciate by our side.

This leads to a consistent investigation of the form to be represented, of what elements and proportions in said elaboration. My recommendation is not to use more than 35 millimeters of height for charms (unless it deserves it).

Considering elements of the desired form for the Seal Key as for the Star Key, I took into account the structure of referential image N°. 2, from which the shape, proportions and luminosities are taken.

For the Seal Key, I decided to do it in 3 levels, where the central shape will be the base that will serve as a support for the placement of the wings on both sides, giving a greater dynamism to the piece.

In the Key of Dreamsit is taken as an allusion, the form the referential image N° 3, as in the previous image the form, proportions and luminosities are taken.

From the referential image N° 1, the 6-pointed star, which it carries as an additional ornament, is additionally taken. This is a supplementary complement to the piece.

Once the pieces of MDF cut laser are in the hands. Each piece was placed with its complementary star. In the case ofSeal Key it is verified that the wings are in mirror mode, that is, they have a horizontal rotation with each other, this to be able to place them on the top and back of the pendant.

The pieces cut in MDF 3mm (the two wings and the key).


Carpentry glue or some strong glue.


Stick or brush for the glue.

Check the location of each of the pieces.


If our option is contact glue, it has to be placed on both pieces. Remembering wait until it is dry and then put the piece one on top of the other.

Having the pieces of MDF cut laser in the hands, it is taken into account that they have a right and a reverse, in the case of the wings to them with the help of the toothpick or the brush; the glue is placed on the back of the engraving, on the other hand, on the central piece, it is on both sides, trying in all three cases that the glue does not remain in the visible part of the piece.
