My Drawing Giving Back to @atopy
I felt compelled to do a take on @atopy's big head style drawings merged with my own in a crossover hit I like to call "a cartoon giving back to a cartoon"
If you are unfamiliar with @atopy, you need to check her out. I love her drawings and was honoured when she chose to do a version of me and my 'friends' (read Monty the dog, Puss the cat, and Monty's favourite chick, Farthing.) doing one of my favourite things: Collecting treasures on our beach. A rather accurate portrayal too, I might add. The amount of far too heavy things I have pulled up the shore from our beach are too many to count.
Please Read her post about it here and by all means follow her, because it is well worth it.
What is so amazing about @atopy is 10 months ago she didn't even draw at all! Now to see her adorable drawings/cartoons you'd think she'd been penning quips for the New Yorker for years.
That is one of the wonderful things about Steemit. I love how it not only brings amazing people into our lives, but it even spurs on hidden talents in us that we discover though the challenge and sharing of this great platform.
Now, when I saw that she had included me in her amazing "Giving smth back" drawings I was very honored. She even included my own @winstonalden ( a very apt likeness too, I might add)
I knew I wanted to give back to her giving back. So, I had a think on it. I decided to do a drawing in kind. A version of she and cat in her large headed way but in my style. A tit for tat but a sketch for sketch if you will.
In my usual self involved way I chose to make her into an impish Victorian child simply for the reason that I love that time period. And it was fun, too, which is one of the main reasons behind most of why do any of my art.
Well, I hope you like it and I certainly hope she likes it. Maybe we'll set a fashion here on Steemit to make drawings, poems, music, fiction of one another to celebrate one another. Although, I suppose it is already happening, but why not just add to it and do it more often, right?
If you like my work please upvote and feel free to resteem and by all means leave comments.

Loool...this hits homebase more than you can imagine. I craft a lot...actually I craft more then draw (but to lazy to take process pictures). But thats how it is...me with all possible strings, ribbons, yarn - and you can imagine the cats and strings, beads and similar...
I LOVE IT. Makes me wish I had that dress. Ty so much! Maybe we have a thing here. Toon4toon. Maybe it would stick, who knows?
Oh, that would be such a great hashtag! #toon4toon.
I'm glad you liked it. I thought, I'm going to pay homage to your style, but let's face it, She's wearing a big dress, it's just going to happen :)
yeah I love it!...i already resized it so I can use it...and hope u dont mind i edited it a bit (just the siggy parts) so they are still visible on small scale
Go for it. I'm going to use the one you made for me to, in posts sometimes as a footer addition or as a cool divider. :)
Oh my, your drawing of her is so adorable <3
10 months, are you kidding? She is so, so talented :O O I just love her drawings. She actually inspired me to give drawing a try, myself.
This is so nice of you, Donna <3
I drew a lot as a kid...and some in my highschool years, but yeah...i stoped after. It wasn't a pleasure no more. Felt to obligatory and demanding. I picked up drawing again 7 years ago, but only for the kids at work....children are in awe fast...so it didnt feel demanding. So fast to please. They didnt care if the angle was wrong or if the head was too big. :) But yes. Seriously back to drawing...steemit did it. I tried animation, digital drawing etc...so can't say anything bad about this platform...its motivating for me. :)
Well, I'm really glad you found your way unto this platform and even more that I found your blog. I really love your drawings and I think it's awesome you found your passion for it again <3
it's nice to have something like that to come back to, I suppose. :)
I guess I misquoted with the timeline for your drawing, but really it is VERY impressive!
Meh....its really isn't that far off....even when i drew as a kid I didn't drew as much as I do now.
These are wonderful, so much incredible talent on both sides.

The mysterious #thealliance. How does one become a member or do I have to know a secret handshake? ;)
All is explained in the weekly "Eyes On" post

Thank you for the recommendation. I will follow her :)
I like the crazy proportions, huge head and tiny hands.
I did it in homage to her characters, but I like it so I might make some more!
Your post is so beautiful and your words come very beautiful so you will post it😊✌💜
Whoa, it's like you are a psychic, but like after it already happened, cuz I DID post it! whoooo...scary. A post psychic! :)
It's all good though, I understand you probably don't speak English as your first language and hey, I'm not having to type in a second language, so more power to you! I say good juju anyway, because you never know who is behind the comment, right? Could be a kind lil sweetheart :)
Stop.
very nice art.
