RE: Hanging out with Skrillex in Paris, and getting my start in music photography.

Thanks winstonwolfe. I mostly shoot portraits these days myself as I'm big into lighting and using off camera flash. It's trickier to do that stuff shooting at clubs or shows and you can often be at the mercy of whatever lighting they have in the venue. I've had some really amazing nights doing it though and got to meet some great people in the process.

It's funny you mention that, because parties are where I mastered wireless, off-camera flash. Then when I went to doing more weddings and portraits, we moved to doing more natural light, and it's been an amazing transition to be able to let go of the flash.
There are times when we use it, but it's usually only be necessity.

Its funny people always assume flash to being the more tricky technique but I always have serious respect for anyone who can get great results with natural light. I find the flash stuff way easier as it gives you total control and I probably don't step out of that comfort zone enough.
