From trading to mining in Singapore
Singapore's residential electricity cost is USD 0.17 Kwh. Limited real estate and unrealistic costs bear on the hobbyist or serious cryptocurrency miner.
Based at the growing market space and the trend of the golden year of 2017, Bi yearly, the market goes on a rally. During these rallies, portfolios appreciate beyond multiples of 2. Therein where the money is to be made. A combined strategy of low key mining and HODL (Holdin On for Dear Life) in the markets until the next swathe of profit is to be made.
Then we get to the mining cost: Acquisition of the rig, rental of space, necessary cooling and electricity costs.
Truly PoW is not easy. Given 1 USD is 1.3 SGD.
My first acquisition: 2 x GTX 1070 GPUs, a pitiful CPU and a scrap monitor. Total damage SGD$3,000. We'll see how mining zClassic would pan out. In trading terms ZCL has tremendous potential to 2x in value largely in part to the Bitcoin Private coin come 28 February. Maxing out 888 Sol/s based on Minethecoin.com income after electric cost is $152 USD or SGD$192.
Maybe SGD$380 when the fork happens.
Maybe mining isn't what its cut out to be.
