The zoo

Afternoon everyone ….

As you all know I took a vacation last week down to Wildwood Crest. One of the days we decided to take a break from the beach scene and hit the Cape May Zoo.

Aside from it being a really nice zoo, it is 100% free to enter. Yes, you read that correctly it is free. They do accept donations at the front gate which most people donate upon entering.

Over the last couple of weeks @tattoodjay has been posting some awesome shots he’s taken at some zoos. So I thought I’d share my zoo pictures as well.

But I’m gonna have a little fun with it as well…..

Let’s start off with a few bird pictures. Our fellow community member @trumpman loves himself some birds.

We can start off with anything else but an American Bald Eagle….

There were also a few peacocks and a toucan as well. In case you were unaware, here is a fun fact: In all bird species the male is the bright full colored bird, and the females are the less bright birds.

Now we move onto a few things that our pal @buggedout is very familiar with. All of these are native to Australia. They are the kangaroo, the emu and the kookaburra.

Next will hit up our Canadian friends, like @fat-elvis, @keerislravenhill, and @thedamus. These are some big, ridiculously big bison, which are native to Canada.

Now let’s look at some really cool Amazon safari animals. We have the cheetah, a few zebras, and several giraffes.

There were some more unusual animals there as well. I had never seen this at any zoo that I can recall at least. It’s a capybara, it’s the largest rodent in the world. To me it looks like a really fat rat, with real animal legs….🤣🤣🤣

Another more unusual animal there was a red panda. Not in any way to be confused with a giant panda.

I will say this thing eats all day like a giant panda. It took me three trips through just to get that partial face shot.

Now let’s take a trip to the desert. We have a lama, and two camels.

If you look at that last picture of the camel laying down. Check out how the body is facing one way and he has his head turned completely the opposite way.🤦🏻

Let’s visit the farm next on our journey. We have some goats, which are standing on top of a shed roof for some reason. We have no idea how they got there other than jumping. The shed was standing alone and was over eight feet high. Then a prairie cow, and last is a pot bellied pig.

Our final stop on the zoo tour will be with a pair of two different types of tortuous.

These were both enormous creatures. The giant tortuous was easily eight feet long and the top of his shell was up to my waist.

I hope you enjoyed the tour of the zoo. While my pictures are no where near as good as @tattoodjay’s. Mine were taken with my phone.

🎉 Wow, what an amazing zoo tour! 🐠🦒 I loved every single photo you shared, and I'm sure many others did too! 😊 Your photos may not be as fancy as @tattoodjay's, but they're still wonderful and give us a great glimpse into the fascinating creatures at your local zoo. 🌳

I'm especially impressed by that giant tortoise - it looked like a gentle giant! 🐢 And I couldn't help but chuckle at the camel who decided to take a nap with its head turned in the opposite direction 😂.

It's amazing how you managed to get all those photos, especially the one of the creature eating all day like a giant panda - that was my favorite part! 🐼

Great job on sharing this fun tour with us, and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did! 😊 Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. 💬
