New….

Afternoon everyone…

Ok folks, as you all know after nearly 18 months of awaiting for a state approval to build my wood shop. It finally got approved by the state. The construction began in May of last year, with it being completed in mid September.

With all of the additional stuff thrown at me by the town and state. This project was nearly $50,000 over the original budget. There was no way that I was going to prolong it from being built. So I did what I had to do in order for it to be completed.

Unfortunately this left me zero money to purchase the machines that I need to make it productive. This has been eating at me for months now.

So I finally decided….

To bite the bullet….

Taking on more debt for the business was not in my plans, but looking at an empty shop was no longer an option for my own sanity.

I took out a business line of credit for $20,000. Before I did that, I went through my list of machines on my wish list. I had to make choices now. What machine were an absolute necessity and which would have to wait.

Well my first machine arrived yesterday…..

It’s a GYRO AIR G-700 Dust Processor. A dust collection system is a must for every wood shop. But this is no ordinary dust collector. This thing is a “Back to the Future” style dust collection system in a compact yet extremely efficient unit. This has more suction power than a typical cyclone style dust collection system without all the hassle. It is much quieter, easy to empty, on wheels to move around, has a separate dust and chip bin, a built in removable to clean HEPA filter plus much more.

Heres what it looks like….

We’ve been getting pounded with snow and ice on and off for a few weeks now. The truck that delivered it, wouldn’t try to get up to my shop. So it was up to me. I grabbed my hand truck and ratchet tie straps and nearly died trying to get this 378 pound machine up to my shop.

This is what a typical cyclone dust collection system looks like set up in a wood shop. They take up tons of room. Are noisy as all hell. Most shops build a separate room for them they are that loud.
