My personal reason to have invested a little in silver is in case our monetary system goes down the drain and we actually need a physical asset again to buy basic things like food and fuel. This might also be the case during a black-out caused by a solar storm or similar events. Hope it never happens, but nice to be able to survive a few extra months, if it does.
