That's your reputation score, you start at 25 and you can go as high as 75 although I think I saw a 77 somewhere haha. Anything lower than 25 is usually a troll account. You can downvote someone if you really think their content is either spam, plagiarism, or like if someone put a big cock picture without using the nsfw tag. Then you can downvote their post and if a person receives enough downvotes, they can go under a 25. I saw an 18 today and I just cringed lol. Anyway, the reputation score is important, the higher the reputation score, usually the more involved a person is or the longer they've been on Steemit. The only way to have your rep score go up is to be upvoted by someone that has a high rep. score than you. Also, each level is harder to get to than the last. You being at 40 so fast is great btw :)
