Dexter New Blood, episode 1: cliché galore (SPOILERS)

Since I got a Showtime free trial, I found the one series they seem to have interesting. Sadly, that first episode is only interesting to count how many cliché tropes we can find...

As I said in the intro, this first episode is basically a festival of clichés

• the female officer (who's also Native)
• the black officer
• the handicapped woman with artificial limbs
• the gay couple who wants to adopt (a dog)
• the Latinos (who, according to my Dominican husband, have English accents)
• the spoiled rich brat who lives a depraved life and eventually gets killed

Otherwise, other than Dexter meeting Harrisson (his son) at the end of the episode, there is really nothing redeeming. I will keep watching, but my hopes aren't too hight
