Haunted

"Where the hell is it?!"

You went around your kitchen in an annoyed flurry. Where was the cheese grater! You remembered putting it in the cupboard with all your plastic Tupperware containers. Now, of course, like every other time you went looking for something, it wasn't there.
You were partly burning the sauce that was on your stove, having to run back and forth between looking for the grater and stirring the pot.
You felt a bit stupid, for going back and forth like you were, when you could have just turned the pot down to a low temperature -or off completely- until you found the grater you needed, but hat thought didn't come to you until much later.

You heard chuckles in the corner of the room, they were slightly muffled, like someone was trying to make their laughs quieter, as to not be heard.
But you knew him. You knew that he didn't care, in fact he spent half of the time laughing at you anyway. He did this on purpose, just so that something might go wrong for you.

When other people's houses were haunted, they just move out. But not you. You had spent too long there, put in too much time, too much care into the house, to let one single, annoying ghost chase you out. No no. You were too stubborn for that.
And it wasn't like the ghost hurt you. Physically anyway. It sure caused you a lot of mental pain and emotional troubles. You liked to think that the ghost was half the reason you have anger issues.
Finally opening the pot cupboard, looking for a pot lid, you took the lid out, only to reveal the cheese grater that you were missing.
You took it out, straightening up and you turned around, seeing the face of the ghost that you knew too well. He was laughing. Laughing loudly.

A few days later, you were getting ready for a very important meeting with your bosses, you were making a presentation and you were up for a really good promotion. You were stood in front of your mirror, brushing mascara over your eyelashes, dyeing them darker than they normally were. You quickly put on a bit of eye shadow and blush, then turned to your lipstick. You opened the cap up and pushed the stick out.
You put it to your lips and began to rub it on, when a hand was suddenly put on your elbow and it pushed your hand across your face.
Your eyes widened as you looked at the red streak across your face, leading from your lips to your cheekbone. You heard a snort to the background and didn't need to look to know who it was.

You were asleep, sleeping quite soundly and peacefully, having a nice dream that you didn't really want to wake up from.

CREEK

Even through your sleeping state, you heard the noise, you knew exactly what it was and found yourself trying to ignore it.

CREEK

That time, you were drawn from your dream, you mind becoming less cloudy as you found yourself being dragged to consciousness. You didn't open your eyes, wanting nothing more for the noise to end and to go back to sleep.
Damn him. Damn him and this petty war he had started.

CREEK

Your eyes snapped open and you reached blindly for the thing that you kept beside your bed in case of emergencies. Opening it up, you grabbed a handful of salt and threw it to where you knew him to be.
He shrieked loudly, disappearing. But before he was gone -for now- you heard,
