After the successful launch of the first ever Shine-Bright post where @jorgegp was featured, I am back again to re-introduce to you all another amazing foodie we are all lucky to have here on the Steemit platform!

Just as a reminder, Shine-Bright is a new initiative that I started to help out and support real and original content authors on Steemit!

Hello all Steemians and Foodies. I'm Tess @tesscooks4u. I have been a part of the Steemit community since June 2017.

A big THANK YOU to @progressivechef for featuring my channel on his project “Shine Bright”.

A fellow foodie @allasyummyfoods introduced and encouraged me to join Steemit through a youtube video.
I was getting bored and discouraged with Youtube and the other social media sites.
I saw @allasyummyfoods pure genuine excitement about Steemit. I was reluctant to join but followed through
as I was looking for something "different". So glad I did. I love Steemit!

Steemit has been a breath of fresh air for me. A new project, a new journey, a new adventure in life.
Yes, I have had some frustrating days trying to figure out how Steemit works. I am "older", takes me a
while to figure things out and I can be a little "thick headed" at sometimes. I had no idea what cryptocurrency
was when I started. Now I think I have a new addiction! LOL! Of course, I am heavy on Steem!

The entire Steemit community has been so kind.
I have met alot of friends. A special shout out to @gringalicious. She has been so
generous in her kindness and knowledge. I really don't think I would have stuck around if it was not for her.

Now a little bit about me.

I have been cooking since I was about 5 years old.
I was raised and remain in Central Pennsylvania in the Amish Dutch country.
We were taught young to help with chores and I remember helping my Mom and Dad in the kitchen
with cooking, butchering and canning.
My Dad was a master gardener so we always had a huge garden and lots of produce on hand.
My love for food and cooking started early as it holds alot of good memories.

My career was in nursing and I have been helping my husband in his business BUT my love and passion
for cooking has always "Shined Bright" in my life.

I feel like I am in a different world when I am in the kitchen cooking. My mind is focused on the food and what I am preparing and I forget all the pain and stress in real life.
Cooking is therapeutic to me. It has helped me through some tough times...really rough times.
I enjoy the creativity of taking the food and produce I have and preparing something that is beautiful, tasty and that my family loves.

I love how food feeds the body and the soul.
I love how food touches all the senses.
I love how food brings people together.
I love how food shows love.

I guess what I am saying is that cooking and baking gives me purpose, worth and satisfaction in life.

I bring my food, cooking and creativity to my posts on Steemit through photographs and videos.
I let all you Steemians into my kitchen and my world. I show you the meals I create for my family and share recipes. I love cooking and baking all cultural cuisines. You never know what you might see.

My hope is to give others encouragement, inspiration and ideas in cooking.
I feel my recipes are just a guideline for one to create their own meal using the foods, produce
and spices they love and have available.

I do enjoy the photography (definitely not as good as some Steemians). I plan to get a better camera in the future. Ever since my sister gave me a Canon camera back in 1980 I have enjoyed photography, especially of nature and landscapes. You may see some of my posts related to
photography and related contests.
