It used to be a Public Holiday, planning went into where trees would be planted, everyone joined in @jaynie
Now they have changed it to a week, not so much mentioned, schools used to have each class in the school decide and vote on which trees to plant and why, it was more educational, then on the day the children helped, up to the elbows in sand team work!
A lot of people don't know the importance of trees to man, and I think schools should emphasize more on it so many people should keep planting them

Deforestation is a bad thing, and should be highly discouraged. I support you on this, planting trees are very important to our environment and our health. @kyptonia ID @blogjeremiah
We had fun growing up, measuring ourselves against the trees, later years we enjoyed the fruits of our labour, most trees we planted were for fruit @blogjeremiah
The more trees we have the better the environment since they eat CO2 and put out Oxygen. Deforestation is also a big problem in South America.
