SEXUAL HARASSMENT: STOP VICTIM BLAMING!

The issue of sexual harassment is one of the most current controversial issues. But what about sexual harassment? Sexual harassment is the insistence of undesirable sexual conduct that can damage a person's dignity. Despite all the controversy, it is important for people to be able to express and be informed about this issue. Let’s stop being apathetic! WAKE UP PEOPLE! This issue has been pass on and yet we don’t give a care!

Each family has one or two victims for sexual harassment that can result in further abuse. Many say that it is not only the victim of the conqueror but the victim itself. But no matter how I see in every angle of the picture, it is never right to disrespect someone’s dignity just because you see a sensitive part of a body that triggers your sexual desire! Learn to know the limits of your action! The girls are not at fault here, teach boys not to stare and step on the line.

Today’s fashion trends are short-sleeved clothing that shows sensitive part of the body. People say that women who dressed in short garments are motivating themselves to be abused. According to webmd Richard Sine, men tend to think and do sex just like their normal activities. On the other hand, women's libido is difficult and complicated and it rarely develops. Because of this concept, women are supposed to be careful and be more responsible for their action for their own safety. But clothing and libido are never enough reason to correct the bended mind about sexual harassment.

 

Recently, there was an art exhibit at the University of Kansas where various clothing collections of victims of sexual harassment or worst have been displayed. There are short skirts but there are also t-shirts and pajamas that do not show any sensitive parts of the body. It is very evident here that the problem is not women’s clothing or the libido but the people's mentality. In the male population only a few are involved in sexual harassment. If we are to based on the concept that it's normal for men to do it, maybe all men should be involved in sexual harassment but not.

I believe women do not cause sexual harassment. It is caused by people’s mentality that they can touch anyone’s body without permission. Sexual harassment is never the victim's fault. Someone has to act to commit a crime. This is a human decision. No one pushes someone to do something that can lower a person's dignity. This is their choice. This is not because of the motivating garments but the motive of the person who do it. According to a sociologist who interviewed some rapists, there were different motives for sexual harassment or rape; to gain others, power, brotherhood, retaliation and so on. Not only did it start on a simple clothing, It started with one's own personality. Wearing conservative clothing does not protect you from sexual harassment. Everyone can and can be abused by someone without doing anything.

PEOPLE LETS UNITE TO STOP SEXUAL HARASSMENT!!

Inside the home you need to start teaching your kids with the right attitude and behavior in interacting with other people. Every child's mentality needs to be molded into the habit of not harming anyone. Teach them respect and other values as a person. For those who have been victimized, do not be afraid to express their own emotions and to fight for your rights because otherwise we will strengthen those who want to abstain from their sins because of the power they gain from you being silent. We give them freedom to do it again. There are alot of institutions and organization today that are protecting the rights of women. Many will help to achieve justice and change for you! DONT BE AFRAID! LETS FIGHT TOGETHER!!
