Seriously? - Support Contract

Caller: "Hi, we have an enquiry from a customer who is looking for email hosting and registration. They already have a Domain name but their current hosting service is shutting down."

Me: "Registration? Do you mean renewal? I'm unsure what you mean by Registration? You say they already have a Domain so unless they're looking to register another Domain I don't understand what this registration is."

Caller: "Well they're looking for a new hosting company that provides email and registration. We'll be doing their support."

Me: "What are you supporting? Their hardware?"

Caller: "We've put that out to Dell."

Me: "What are you supporting?"

Caller: "Backups and email."

Me: "Email?"

Caller: "Well, yes. I know about email it's just how Domains are transferred I don't know about."

So let me get this straight. You're an IT Support company who's sold another company support for services you know nothing about and don't even do!?"

Talk about selling under false pretences.
