For me, it only happens by mistake, when I'm not aware the camera is switched on, and my mind is focused on something other than taking a picture.
I stand by my opinion that most people look best when they are not aware that the camera is capturing them.
I was taking "selfies" before they were a thing, when digital cameras first came out, almost 20 years ago. I still think its weird, even though its the new normal now.
Candid photos are always the best and I will always appreciate them the most. And I think even before cameras people were trying to capture themselves. I think about when people would sit for hours to have their portraits painted or use to inscribe drawings on cave walls. I think we are always trying to preserve moments but selfie culture is a whole other level. I have no qualms with capturing yourself in a moment but when it shifts into a space where people become fixated on taking the perfect selfie, I don't generally resonate with that. But each to their own. 😊

My thoughts EXACTLY!

Hahah this chick is a maniac! But if she's doing her and happy, good on her. It's definitely not what I'm about, but it doesn't really affect me either.
