Unknown launched several "mirrors" closed Kickass Torrents

 A group of activists have launched several copies of the popular torrent tracker Kickass Torrents, closed after the arrest of its alleged founder Artem Vaulin July 20. About it writes The Verge.

One of the "mirror" is located at kat.am. In the letter, obtained by The Verge from the authors of the project said that the site "placed on multiple cloud servers to prevent it from locking, and information about hosting well hidden behind Cloudflare". The authors of the "mirror" noted that gradually the website will be copied the whole database Kickass Torrents, including user profiles and their comments.

According to the creators of the copy, unlike the original site, it has a search box and mobile version. The website kat.am is unstable. Periodically attempts to open it end with the error notification.

Another "mirror — kickasstorrents.website was created within 24 hours of the closing of the original site team another major torrent tracker isoHunt. On it, according to its creators, Kickass Torrents data is stored only for the last year and a half, but without the user database and the forum.

On the main pages of both sites posted links to the petition demanding the release of Vaulina on Change.org (4.5 thousand signatures) and on the White house website (855 signatures). In the US, the petition garnered more than 100 thousand signatures in 30 days to get an official response from the authorities, writes VentureBeat.
