AVOID USING BAD VPN (Virtual Private Network) PROVIDERS TO PROTECT YOUR PRIVACY

in #security6 years ago

It seems like everyone from Hackers to Governments, ISP's (Internet Service Provider) and Big Corporations are after your personal information including your online activity, shopping trends, which websites you visit and how long for and which sites you visit the most.
Then there will be a few apps on your smartphone which constantly track your location, Where you are and where you have been and where you are heading to.
Now, this is where you would use a VPN Service to protect yourself from most of this and you may think that all VPN providers are the same just as I once did. But I soon learned about DNS (Domain Name System) Leaks and that they are a major privacy threat since the anonymity network may be providing a false sense of security while private data is leaked. With many VPN providers including most of the free VPN providers are also recording your data to sell on along with providing a false sense of security. You can test out your current VPN by turning it on and then go to www.dnsleaktest.com and run a test and see for yourself.
For e.g. You'll find sites are blocked or restricted in certain countries like China from where you cant access to youtube, facebook, twitter, etc.... Now if you were using Nord VPN on your device while in Mainland China you would be able to access your Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, etc..., But if you were using one of the BAD VPN Services which have DNS leaks then you wouldn't be able to access Youtube, Facebook, etc.. on your device while in Mainland China.
I've tried a few different VPN Services over the years and last year I needed a VPN that supported Enigma2, Android, Apple IOS and Windows PC Devices. Most of the ones that I had tried out by that point did not support Enigma2 devices. I did a bit more research and found Nord VPN and another cheaper one that only had a few hundred servers around the world, The windows setup was a bit complicated, The Enigma2 setup wasn't simple and the speeds were really slow and some of the servers were not working either.
Then I tried Nord VPN and the setup on all the devices was really simple. The Enigma2 Setup confused me a bit but I was able to contact someone from the support team online through live chat. It was late at night and the guy was really helpful. He was able to help me figure out where I went wrong with the Enigma2 setup and Set it up right all within 20 min.
Hands Down one of the Best VPN's on the market right now. I've tried and tested for over 6 months with not a single complaint. They have thousands of Servers around the world and cover a lot of different devices and provide useful setup guides and have very friendly and helpful customer service team who are ready to help 24/7. I'll make a video review on this within the next month or two.
