STEEMIT Hack Issue & Security

STEEMIT's value rises so quickly these past few days, that easily got the attention of most traders at Bittrex exchange. 

I was one of them who  got carried away at its awesome potential & surprising user adoption. 

And then, the expected & worisome nightmare came, the dark forces visited STEEMIT yesterday! 

They actually succeeded to compromise the system, stolen some "few" funds of users. Fortunately, our beloved developers have moved at lightning speed to contain & prevent further damages. And now, STEEMIT is working normally, & smoothly, or is it?

I understand that investigation is on-going internally and also with cyber authorities. 

I find abit confusing that STEEMIT community, in general, is not perturbed with this security issues. I was expecting to see more write ups and information on this crisis, only to find the 2 updates by CEO Ned Scott, along with several user comments and praises.

I would appreciate for more updates from our developers, and urge my fellow STEEMians to be vigilant with their account security. 

Until then, our fun at Bittrex is halted yet. I believe, however, that STEEMians are not abandoning ship at this time of uncertainty. Stay calm, & full Steem ahead!
