May 16, 2020--Practice blog in the time of the virus
Lots of waiting around today. The original plan was to go to practice at the church first thing this morning, but the pest exterminator made an appointment between 10 and noon. So, practiced piano until noon. He came shortly after noon. From 12 until 2:30, we played DnD online and then went to go practice. Only had an hour of practice time as I made another appointment to pick up a wine kit from the local brewery store. Came home and bottled six gallons of wine before making dinner. And that was the day....
On the piano, I have been trying to get Handel's Lusinghe piu care up to speed. Just about there. Another two days. I also worked on two of Mendelssohn's Songs without Words for memory purposes, Bach's Fugue in C major from WTC I, and Chopin's Mazurka in B-flat, Op. 7 no. 1--just to see how much I could learn in one day.
On the organ, I ran through several things I worked on this week--Kauffmann's Herr Jesu Christ; the first kyrie from Couperin's Mass for the Convents; Bach's BWV 631; and my prelude and postlude for tomorrow. The prelude is above.
