The secrets of wisdom: I love everyone who loves me, and I will be found by all who honestly search. Proverbs 8:17

All the sapiential books call Bible readers to inquire into the secrets or mysteries of wisdom, and the Book of Proverbs written by King Solomon is no exception and does so in a very original way by using an imaginary personification of wisdom. A very interesting topic, because centuries after King Solomon, another author, the Lord Jesus, the "son of man", the embodiment of God's gifts, referred to himself as the personification of wisdom to introduce men in the spiritual doctrine of the Kingdom of God: "I am the light of the world" John 8:12, "I am the door" John 10:9.
And so in the first person, this wisdom is addressed to men: "People, I call out to you; my cry is to the children of Adam" Proverbs 8:4. With this, the book of Proverbs explains that wisdom has always been with God and it is up to men to accept her as a life partner or not.
And then the Book says something else, the true goal of man's actions is not money or happiness but excellence, because as a result of it arrives the other goods, and it does so by affirming this: "For wisdom is better than jewels" Proverbs 8:11.
But then the Book states something else, she only lets herself be caught and conquered not by everyone but by a special group of people: "I love everyone who loves me, and I will be found by all who honestly search" Proverbs 8:17. This means that the perfection of wisdom cannot be found by the hard-hearted or the foolish, but by people of pure heart who are not subject to the deception of concupiscence. This in the Christian faith has its equivalent with the commandment of love and the fullness of spiritual gifts with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the mystery of wisdom in the Christianism is the mystery of grace. Loving what cannot be seen or touched is the love that is described in the Book of Proverbs, a spiritual love (Agape) that leads to other secrets such as immortality and eternal life or contemplative life. This is the ultimate prize of every spiritual warrior, to reach the understanding of the ultimate truths, but this is a gift from God, to carry out the creator's plan.
