WORKINGS OF THE MOONSCAPE GAME — EARLY ACCESS
The Moonscape game has been long anticipated, and you do yourself good if you are prepared for it. The game proposes many good rewards in DeFi cryptocurrencies, NFTs etc.
If you hear this for the first time, this isn't Latin or some other ancient language so I will get you up to speed.
What is Moonscape?
Moonscape is a resource management DeFi strategy game. Its gameplay centres on a futuristic moon, where players explore the moon's surface, enhance their towns, and receive rewards for their time spent in-game. The ultimate objective is to survive and thrive on a hostile moon while earning profit for your effort.
The game employs tried-and-tested DeFi mechanics; some functions employ the use of NFTs. Altogether, players use these means to scout and scramble for the limited moon resources to develop their burgeoning cities. In the quest for domination, players can plunder rival cities and collaborate with friendly ones.
Working on the Moonscape Game
The moonscape game is a combination of different functions, making it unique. It stands out as the world's first resource strategy management DeFi game. However, it isn't just about DeFi mechanics. The concept behind the game's development welcomes traditional gamers as well, with its thrilling gameplay.
The basic gameplay includes resource extraction, city-building and development, and the game's attack and defence. In this thread, we will discuss Resource Extraction and Moonscape Combat.
Resource Extraction
The Moonscape game has four available resources: the electric energy Cryptonium, the fuel Decentralite, the energy crystals Yield Stones, and spare parts Rocket Juice. These resources are needed for city and excavator building and core game upgrades.
The two ways to obtain resources in the moonscape game are extraction and raiding. On the map, you will find extraction points containing valuable resources. Finding these points is part of the gameplay; however, beware of battle aliens who hoard most of these resources.
How to Extract Resources
To commence extraction, you will need to approach the resource point with your rover and set up one of your excavators. Use one excavator per resource type but will be able to obtain more with the Resource Extraction core feature.
During extraction, the amount of resources you can obtain is based on the excavator's level; this can be augmented using the Mining Research core feature. After excavation, you need to hop into your rover to retrieve the resource. Do this by pressing the icon and selecting Collect. There will be another option called Unpack, and this one is used to remove that extractor from that resource point to relocate to another location.
Note, the extraction point is where you can obtain a higher amount of your desired resource, and these resources are limited. To not lose track of your excavators in the vastness of Moonscape, after you assign one to a resource point, its location will appear in the mini-map of the game; but will only remain while an excavator is assigned to the point. Once collected, this point will no longer appear on your mini-map.
How to Raid Resources
The other main way to obtain resources is by raiding them from other players.
Please enter the city of a rival player and click on any of their buildings to check the available amount resources present. Destroying this building in combat means that you will obtain that resource. It is essential to constantly fight with caution, as you must survive the encounter to get the resources.
Combat Skills Moonscape
Battle survival is key in the Moonscape game, and every user needs to learn it. The two possible forms of combat in the game are combating aliens and combat with rival cities.
####Combat with Aliens
Aliens are fierce moon beings that prevent you from doing most required gameplay tasks such as resource extraction. They have two groups of aliens, low difficulty and high difficulty.
To fight the aliens, tap the Spacebar on the keyboard when the moving triangle is the same position as the fixed triangle. If you manage to match these triangles in the described positions, your rover will attack successfully. You can deal with a blow that will cause critical damage to the target at this exact moment. If you can't match this, you will likely fail the attack.
To make this action more accessible, increase the accuracy of your rover using the Rover Research Core Function.
City Battles
To start, you will need to explore the map and find the city of a rival player. After you enter, you will find the Attack button on the screen. But don't rush to attack! Survey what cities exist and consider them carefully before attacking.
Before the attack, click on any of the buildings of that rival city, and you will see the number of resources each building possesses. When you knock a building's HP down to zero in another city, you will receive several resources raided from the player you are attacking.
A Dome protects each city, which goes for your rival city. The Dome blocks most attacks coming to the city; it is, therefore, important that you master your aiming to impact damage on the city. The attack process is similar to attacking aliens, but instead of tapping the Spacebar, you press and hold, releasing when the triangle is in the right position.
The city battle has a time limit; you must destroy at least one building in the city to loot its resources before the timer runs out. Before going out for an attack, having your Rover skills checked and upgraded is important.
If the reverse occurs, the Core Function City Defense will help you upgrade your defences to resist an attack. This includes: longer and faster Dome time, stronger turrets, and even surprise mines that will be hidden in the battle map. This can prevent your city from getting raided.
