Retail Failures- Sears

I have been shopping recently during the holidays and had to mention how awful Sears corporate has been.

The picture above is a recent renovated Sears, about a year ago, that is days from closing forever. (Proof is in the logo. An update not many Sears stores have yet.) The store a few months prior to the bankruptcy was in a major renovation. Yet once bankruptcy came in this store was decided to be shutdown. Who would spend money so quickly knowing that the survival of it was on the fringe? Why did not corporate saved the store considering they had already put money into its upgrade? I am confused of what their plans are but it is clear they are doing a poor job at managing their assets. At least during this Sears final days sale I got a couple of new sneakers for the kids.
