Shark diving
A sucker for scuba diving, I try to plan my trips around opportunities for diving.
On my trip to the Bahamas I signed up with Stuart's Cove. Having very less diving experience, and not having done one for more than a year, I was kind of nervous getting back into the water. The fact that I got allotted a dive buddy who was just as inexperienced only made it trickier.
However, as soon as we flipped over the boat, all the inhibitions went away. The peace that the ocean offers is surreal. That feeling of flying slowly through the turquoise blue waters..
The tranquility however was not to last too long as we had about five sharks swimming around us. I get goose bumps as I think about the reef shark that I kept swimming parallel to - those green blue eyes.
I'm really scared of the ocean and all the animals that habit there. It could be because it's not my natural habitat + I don't know how to swim. But these photos are soothing to me.
Maybe one day, I would explore the waters, but that would definitely be in a submarine. :-)
I am not a great swimmer or a water baby either. But I took to Scuba diving like a charm.. the ocean is a lot scarier from the outside than when inside it. Hope you give scuba diving a chance some day.
