Alegria Dive Resort Bulacao, Sta. Filomena, Alegria, Cebu - 6030, Philippines

Sta. Filomena Cebu Philippines
Offer's some of the best marine life, coral, creature and fish variety in CEBU. On any given dive, you are likely to see an abundance of reef fish: parrotfish (juvenile and adult), damselfish, butterfly fish, frog fish, angel fish and many others presented on almost every dive. Grouper and snapper are healthy and you may see large schools of blue tang and creole wrasse. You are also likely to encounter at least one hawksbill or green turtle on every dive. If you do a few dives with us, you might be lucky to see whale shark, white tip reef shark, blue ring octopus, mandarine fish, ghost pipefish and harlequin shrimps.

On the dives themselves, we tend to point out all different marine life creatures and “unusually shaped fish” such as shaded bat fish, trumpet fish, eels, trunk fish, pygmy seahorse to name a few. As far as creatures (non-fish), we also regularly see manta shrimp and slipper lobster. There is also a very interesting macro life, with many shrimps, crabs, blennies, gobies, nudibranchs and worms. Night dives also offer a different set with all the crustaceans out in the open, octopus, squid and even bioluminescence!

HOUSE REEF.....

You will find lots of different things on our House Reef. Everything from small damsel fishes to big green turtles as well as both soft and hard corals. There are fields of Staghorn corals, at the top of the reef.

The Reef is virgin and as of yet only a handful of Scuba Divers and Snorkeler's have dived or snorkel here. No doubt in a few years time it will be very famous as Moalboal. Turtles, Barracudas, Angel fish, Butterfly fish, Lion fish, Hawk fish, Nudibranch can be found in the waters of Sta. Filomena. Occasionally, a Whale Shark can be spotted even dolphins.

ENTRANCE and EXIT

Are very easy for snorkelers and divers. In the beginning of the dive, there is sandy/rocky area's where you can spend time looking at the small fish like the Leaf Pipefish or frog fish hanging on or near to the sea grass. Out a bit further you are greeted with an array of highly coloured different species of Soft Coral with isolated area's of Hard Coral. Out even further approx 30m from entrance you have reached the CROWN OF THE JEWEL amazing fields of brightly colour Hard Coral. spend a bit of time in this area taking photos or video looking for them critters, find a nice sandy area, settle down and adjust your equipment, check your camera or video and get ready for the amazing wall dive, you can either dive straight over and take the sheer drop down or find between the reef a nice gradient by diving along the edge of the reef, there are some ledges on the way down 15m 25m 40m and even deeper for the Tec Divers. keep your eye out for the Giant Clams on the way down

The wall consists of small caves, impressive overhangs and cracks running all the way from the top of the reef. It’s a good idea to bring a torch, don't worry if you not have one we have lights for rental at a very reasonable cost.

Our experienced dive guide and instructors are highly knowledgeable about the marine life at the reef and it’s inhabitants and fish behaviours with a wealth of knowledge on different areas and interests. We offer the PADI Reef Conservation Course - Fish Identification Course - PADI Project Aware Course Where better can you take these Course's than a Virgin Reef.
