[dCRYPTO] Correcting community misconceptions about Tron's acquisition of Steemit
The community is really hot soon after the Tron Foundation's acquisition of Stemit. Obviously, there are a lot of reactions in the overseas community that only the Tron-like blockchain is eaten by Tong, but rather that it is acquired by marketing talent.
A few hours later, the details will be revealed at DLive AMA, which will be held at 2 am on February 16 (Sunday) in Korea, but before that, let's talk about some things to prevent community confusion.
(1) Why give STEX token airdrops to TRX holders?
For Justin Sun, Steemit's acquisition news is a great way to counter block One's VOICE launch and serve as a marketing material.
Naturally, think of it as a marketing tool to raise the price of Tron you created.
In addition, airdrop funding is likely to be financed by STEEM tokens acquired by Tron Foundation.
(2) What if I issue a TRON mainnet-based STEEM token?
For Justin Sun, you certainly won't leave Steam Blockchain as a separate, independent chain and community.
Somehow, the STEEM community must be subordinated to the Tron ecosystem to achieve Justin's merger goal.
Based on the information available so far, it seems that Justin Sun is using the concepts of Steemit and Steem indistinguishably.
I don't know what the next steps will be, but for now, we expect that the STEEM tokens based on the Sun Tron Mainnet will be issued unconditionally.
(3) So will the steam blockchain disappear?
As everyone knows, Ned's disposal of STEEM tokens and Steemit Inc does not change the ownership of the Steam Blockchain.
It is only that the Tron Foundation owns a significant stake in STEEM tokens, and the owners of Steemit Inc have changed.
The elimination of the Steam Blockchain, which has its own main network and ecosystem, is when all witnesses stop producing and verifying blocks, turning off nodes, and leaving the community.
There are questions about which Witnesses will carry the forearm in future code updates, development work, etc., but it is never possible for the Steam Blockchain to disappear immediately, as determined by Justin Sun.
(3) Steemit on STEEM vs Steemit on TRON
There may be both STEEM tokens and TRX-20 STEEM tokens on the Steam Blockchain, just as there are EOS, the main token of EOS mainnet, and ERC-20 EOS token, which was Ethereum's ERC-20 token.
In other words, two tokens with the same name STEEM can exist on the Steam Blockchain and Tron Blockchain at the same time.
Initially, the Tron Foundation will be able to take snapshots of current holders and swap tokens on the Tron mainnet in the same quantity, but from then on, the ecosystem will be completely forked.
(4) The reaction of the witnesses is the most important
STEEM tokens start to be issued on the Tron mainnet, not on the steam blockchain, meaning two things:
① STEEM tokens are no longer tokens with their own blockchains (coins) but subordinate to the Tron mainnet. (Like Ethereum's ERC-20 D-App token)
② It means that the Witnesses that are currently active will disappear.
In other words, STEEM is not a native token, but a token for the deapp for Steemit's dapp operation, eliminating the need for witnesses to maintain the main network, create blocks, and governance.
Thus, perhaps the current Witnesses are most sensitive to what the Justin Sun and Tron Foundation have announced.
(5) Is the steam engine and SMT ruined?
While Agroad (@aggroed) is already rapidly communicating with the community through multiple channels, it doesn't really matter with Steam Engine whether Steemit is acquired by the Tron Foundation or the Steem blockchain itself is gone.
Because it's a Layer 2 way of creating a separate service on the main blockchain network, Steam Engine simply connects the service wherever it is, whether it's EOS, Tron or Ethereum.
But SMT is a little different. In fact, SMT was just a waste of time and resources due to Nedra's lack of leadership and ability.
SMT is likely to be newly developed by Tron's Steemit Inc team as a Tron (TRX) -based SNS customization system.
(6) Good or bad?
In the short term, it is a good thing. (I don't know how the Steam community will be forked in the future.) Once the Tron and Steam communities are merged, the ecosystem grows, and Justin Sun will continue to aggressively market and develop in the context of Block One's VOICE. In this regard, the news has regained interest in the crypto scene, and most of all, he has completely ended up with Ned, the god of X.
But in the long run, there can be a lot of debate about whether to pack the steam blockchain into its own blockchain or to be absorbed by the Tron ecosystem.
