Concepts of the Holographic Universe

This horizon is nothing more than the four-dimensional representation (since time is included as a dimension, something Stephen Hawking formulated) of the initial, three-dimensional (with two spatial dimensions and a temporal) starting point at the base of the whole system. Just as a hologram is a three-dimensional representation located on a two-dimensional point, reality as we perceive it would be but a part of the universe: a four-dimensional representation on a three-dimensional surface.

The implications of this are very important. According to Hawking, the "holographic" universe we perceive would be but one of millions of possible universes, all of which could be representations of the three-dimensional center (which would be the true reality). It is necessary to see how much this theory can be applied to the development of new technologies, but already it has revolutionized the way in which we understand the universe.
