Digital Editing Part 2
Continuing on from the previous post, Before Teleportation, I was discussing a machine capable of digitizing objects and storing them. Now I am going to take it further. What if a person could also manipulate the data of objects digitized? What if anything digitized could be copied and cut? What if certain parts of the data can be removed from the digital object?
Starting off with the first two questions, what if anything digitized could be manipulated to where it can be copied and cut with this machine? Try to imagine this, this machine I have been talking about has a computer that allows a person to not only see whatever object enters its digital storage but it also has a function that allows that person to replicate the data of that object. It would probably be impossible to simply just copy and paste an object then recreate two objects though because while the object may be data now, it was originally an object made of matter and that matter is stored within the machine. In order to recreate two of the same object it would most likely be necessary for the machine to have twice the amount of the same elements the original object was made of. In order to get those same elements, the only solution in my opinion is to load the machine up with lots of matter and delete the data of unnecessary objects and store the elements in the machine. Once a lot of elements are in the machine then it should be the matter of pressing a few buttons to copy, paste, and recreate two of an object. Of course it’s important to keep in mind that I’m just making baseless speculations on an imaginary invention.
Moving on to the third question, what if certain parts could be removed from the object? In the previous post, I mentioned the possibility of storing people with incurable diseases in the machine but what if by using this machine a person could identify and locate the disease within the machine then remove the disease and replace the removed parts with healthy DNA. Theoretically, the machine could fix, I’m not going to say cure since this is not vaccine or medicine, people who have diseases like cancer, herpes, AIDS, or HIV. Of course the machine would most likely be unable to do anything about viruses like the flu due to the fact that viruses will not be as easy to remove from a person’s body. But why stop at removing diseases, theoretically this said machine could remove all of the hair from an individual or just the unwanted. It could remove wisdom teeth. It could potentially remove multiple things from the human body without the risk of pain or suffering and therefore it could become a highly useful tool for surgeries. But why stop at removing things, why not add some thing?.
One of the newer capabilities of the 3D printer is the ability to create organs which theoretically could be placed in humans. This machine should be able to do that as well because from the way I’m imagining it, this machine is essentially a 3D printer that constructs everything digitally and then recreates the object in the real world. Unlike the 3D printer though, this machine should be able to recreate human limbs on an individual while that individual is in the machine and it should take less time to recreate the limbs than a 3D printer.
This machine I thought of has the potential to change the world. Through its ability to cut, copy, and paste it can eliminate the need for factories. Through its ability to remove things from the human being without pain or suffering, it can removing diseases from a person’s system and change how surgeries are done. Through its ability to recreate limbs and organs it could give some people the power to walk again, write again, or simply live a normal life. It’s important to keep in mind though that this is all speculation of a theoretical machine which was thought up by an idiotic dreamer so it shouldn’t be taken too seriously.
