Can an Alt-Coin help Cure Cancer?

Cure coin is a SHA-256 based Crypto-Currency that, as a trade-able and exchangeable unit of value repressenting an amount of research, uses the computational power of a network of computers connected via Blockchain Tech. to find cures to Cancer, infectious and neurological diseases, or other medical ailments. After cures to those problems have been solved, it can move on to a multitude of others. It is an ambitious vision, but could a combination of clever people playing a protein folding “game,” and a decentralized Blockchain network really achieve progress towards these goals?
It seems likely. It can be merge mined with folding coin, (you may have guessed), and runs well even on old CPUs, GPUs, and ASICs. Not only is it's source code repository impressively busy, and the coin already at a very high level of development, but it is a brainchild of Stanford university, and has its full backing. Folding@home allows researchers in protein molecular dynamics and protein folding to have access to the computational power of the Computers connected to its network. Its a proof-of-work that actually benefits humanity, instead of endlessly solving Hashing algorithms. It is a scientific and egalitarian system.
I like Crypto-Currencies that can do something good for the world. After investigating this project further it is yet another example of how Blockchain technology will help change the world for the better. All across the world there are trillions of dollars spent annually on the practice of medicine. Almost all of us have had a loved one stricken with disease at some time or another and wished there was something we could do. Now... even as a Profit-Motivated Cryptocurrency Trader, you can have a positive impact on humanity merely by investing in CureCoin as a trade-able asset, that, like any Crypto-Currency could be used for day to day purchases.
I remember an Address Steven Hawking gave in which he said that biological weapons are among the top on his list of fears that could Destroy Humanity, along with Artificial Intelligence and Extra-Terrestrial life roaming the universe in search of resources. As soon as I find a coin that can help solve those problems, I'm on board, but for now, CureCoin is at least a step towards solving the first one. I am highly impressed with its Founder Maxwell Sanchez, its goals, and the underlying technology.
CureCoin seems to be surprisingly unknown, It only has a 2.5 million dollar market Capitalization and about 9 BTC of volume on the exchanges. I just don't get it, but, I suppose, as a researcher I should get used to this: It is undervalued by a factor of 10 to 100X based upon my assessment. It certainly gives me something to write about! CureCoin's High Level of development, Its altruistic and critical goals are a God-send to humanity. I'm In.
