Almost invisible animals
Nature never ceases to amaze us with the variety of species with different sizes and shapes. Some of them are better known than others. We show you a series of creatures that are not only difficult to find, but their shape and color make them almost impossible to perceive.
These animals live in the depths of the ocean and they have almost invisible bodies to hide from predators.
1/4 The glass octopus (Vitreledonella richardi):
It is completely invisible, except for your digestive system, nerves and eyes. Live in the depths of the ocean, 300-1000 meters below tropical waters.
2/4 The glass squid (Cranchiidae):
Like the glass octopus, its eyes project light, which can make it an easy prey to locate. However, this species uses a form of camouflage in which it does a trick called counter-lighting. Use the organs under your eyes to reflect the brightness and create an effect similar to that produced by the sun to seep into the water.
3/4 Sea worm (Tomopteris pacifica):
They have the ability to emit bright flashes of blue and yellow. They are also able to eject a series of luminescent particles to distract predators and escape.
4/4 Marine sapphires (Sapphirina):
These animals are the size of an ant, have the ability to shine emitting gold, red and blue colors. However, if they feel threatened they can turn off their bright colors and become invisible in a matter of seconds.
